Believe it or not there are some wonderful and thoughtful gifts that you can get for your mother on Mother's Day that are relatively inexpensive.

A Box Of Candy Or A Box Of Chocolates

Who doesn't like chocolate? You can still get a reasonably priced box of chocolates or candy these days. Many major grocery stores have great selections of chocolate in a special aisle in the store.

Add A Mother's Day Card

Your mother would love to have a thoughtful card with something written personally by you. With the box of chocolates you can include a nice card. Both the chocolates and card can usually be found at the same store.

Send Her A Single Carnation In A Bud Vase

Some florists will only deliver flowers for a certain minimum amount. Many times they will have a twenty or fifty dollar minimum or possibly even higher. Florists are pretty easy to bargain with however and small town florists are even more so. Frankly they just cannot afford to send someone a flower for ten dollars, because of the high costs of overhead these days. They have to pay a delivery guy and there is the gas and those types of expenses, plus the fact they are very busy on holidays. But do not let that deter you. A single flower such as a carnation is usually inexpensive. If they total cost of the flower and vase is less than 5 dollars, they may be willing to send it for a total of 10 dollars, especially if you are a good customer or you are purchasing other items or flowers for possibly a mother in law or your wife.

Remember that you don't have to buy flowers from a florist. You can buy and arrange the flowers yourself at certain large grocery stores and markets. They can really have some great flowers, for a great price. You can arrange the flowers yourself and they often have fancy paper and ribbons too. Remember it is the thought that counts!
